why I’m not going to watch the new Thor movie

Ok, so I am a Nordic/Scandinavian person, that’s not the reason. I like Thor and most of the characters in the movie, I’ve learnt to not see Thor as Thor in my mythology, this Thor belongs to marvel and has nothing to do with Norse Thor. Hence why I love marvel Loki but still think Norse Loki is a twat.

The reason I don’t like Jane is because here’s a human woman, who’s lifespan is like the blink of an eye to Thor and his kind, and he’s willing to throw away everything for her, to chose her over his brother, his family, for a girl who’s life will be over in the blink of an eye. I hope she dies in the movie.

It’s ok to feel, it’s ok to cry, it’s ok to not be alright. You don’t have to be perfect, no one is perfect. Love yourself, accept your flaws and try to be strong. There are people who love you and want you to stay.

I love how paws are all different, between the shape, size, color, and pattern, they’re all unique. I also like how my dogs allow me to use them for my artistic boredom.

The thing with rape and sexual assault is that we put so much of the responsibilities on girls and women. Don’t dress like that, don’t act like that or you’ll get raped. Don’t get raped we are told. But we don’t teach, even though it is a given for most, that rape is not ok. We should teach that no is a no, someone being too drunk or unconscious is also a no. Someone changing their mind is a no.

When we teach children about sex we shouldn’t just focus on the basics of how it works, we should talk to them about emotions, about only having it when it feels right for them, about thinking about the other persons feelings. 

Being at university I feel that a lot of the guys think that they are entitled to sex, that we owe it to them. Drinking events organized by the Student Union or the clubs are so incredibly sexist and encourage the notion that yes, we female students exist solely for your male pleasure. 

We had an event where girls were asked to come to the club in bikini tops to get free entry, it was beginning of winter. It’s really hard to tell someone their way of thinking is stupid, what they are doing is wrong when they are encouraged by society. 

If I get a son I hope that I’ll remember to teach him this, to respect everyone regardless of gender, sexuality, religion and colour. That if someone gives themselves to him that he respects that person and cherishes what he is given, no matter how fleeting and short that encounter is or how many people there are. I want him to teach each and everyone of them with respect, even if it’s just a drunken one night stand. 

I hope I teach him everything that is as important as this and don’t take for granted that he’ll know or learn from someone else.
